The implementation of AI in enterprises has become significantly easier in recent times. Piyush Malik, chief digital and transformation officer, Veridic Solutions, emphasized the importance of close collaboration between CIOs and business teams. They must work together to develop compelling use cases and business cases that resonate with CFOs, Malik said.

Harnath Babu, partner and CIO, KPMG India, highlighted AI's shift from being a back-end tool to being at the forefront of business operations. It is imperative to acknowledge and address challenges such as hallucinations and output precision to ensure effective deployment of AI projects, Babu said.

"While AI has been around for decades, its mainstream adoption is now accelerating. Despite concerns like data leakage and deepfakes, the value proposition of AI technology cannot be overlooked. As we go deeper into the AI, the emergence of neurosymbolic systems and reasoning engines presents opportunities for further innovation and advancement," said Sarfraz Nawaz, product executive in residence at Mighty Capital and former data and AI product leader at Johnson & Johnson.

In this video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA Conference 2024, Malik, Nawaz and Babu also discussed:

  • Infrastructure readiness and cost implications of adopting generative AI at scale;
  • CIOs' business strategies for AI projects with actionable ROI;
  • Guardrails and AI governance for enterprises.

Malik is a startup executive, entrepreneur, board adviser and angel investor in emerging technologies.

Babu primarily manages KPMG India's technology infrastructure, ensuring its readiness for the market.

Nawaz focuses on exploring the intersection of AI and healthcare.
