As U.S. government agencies migrate operations and apps to multi-cloud environments, there are lessons learned to be gained from their private sector counterparts. John Sellers of Cisco shares some of these lessons, as well as questions government security leaders need to be asking about the cloud.

Sellers joined Cisco Systems via Cisco's acquisition of Lancope in 2015. He leads all the selling efforts of Cisco Umbrella and Cisco's cloud security solutions within the United States public sector. Sellers has over 25 years of experience partnering with government agencies and higher education, bringing to them the most effective security solutions in the marketplace. Prior to Lancope, he was the director of federal sales at Blue Coat Systems for 11 years and spent two years in the same capacity at Palo Alto Networks. He has published white papers and blogs on network security.
