WinMagic Launches Latest Full-Disk Encryption Solution at RSA

WinMagic Inc., the global innovator in disk encryption, will launch and demonstrate SecureDoc Version 5.3, which adds wireless capabilities to its market-leading PBConnex pre-boot network authentication, at Booth 939 at the RSA Conference being held February 27-March 2, 2012 in San Francisco. SecureDoc v5.3 will also introduce two other key features to simplify data encryption and management: SecureDoc OSA, which provides seamless Self Encrypting Drive (SED) integration, and Removable Media Container Encryption (RMCE), which makes it simple for users to securely transport and share data.

"As a company built on innovation, WinMagic is committed to the constant improvement of our products, whether through new features or basic enhancements that improve the overall user experience and IT management capabilities," said Thi Nguyen-Huu, CEO of WinMagic Inc. "With the addition of Wireless PBConnex, SecureDoc OSA and Removable Media Container Encryption, SecureDoc 5.3 once again raises the encryption bar in terms of increasing productivity, reducing IT management and providing a seamless user experience. We are excited to be able to demonstrate these latest innovations at the RSA Conference."

PBConnex (http://www.winmagic.com/products/pbconnex) provides both the convenience of auto-boot and the security of pre-boot authentication. Wireless PBConnex (WPBC) provides all the benefits of PBConnex, without the need to utilize a network cable. As long as the SecureDoc Enterprise Server (SES) is available via the internet, authorized users worldwide can connect to a wireless network and authenticate against the SES and Microsoft Active Directory. WPBC enables authenticated users to boot their device without a local key file and access the internet with a pre-boot browser.

SecureDoc OSA enables users to encrypt their hard drive without having to install any software in the Operating System (OS). SecureDoc OSA leverages Self Encrypting Drive (SED) technology to perform installation at pre-boot - eliminating the need to create an OS-specific installation package. SecureDoc OSA works with most Operating Systems, including all Intel-platform versions of Linux, Solaris and Windows.

Removable Media Container Encryption (RMCE) enables users to create an encrypted container on a removable USB device. The encrypted container will automatically be mounted as a hard drive to enable users to quickly protect data by simply copying or moving the data to the drive. RMCE also enables SecureDoc users to share data with users that do not have SecureDoc installed and utilize the included Media Viewer to view and edit data or save it on an encrypted container.

Additional SecureDoc v5.3 enhancements include single sign-on support for PBConnex and Microsoft Active Directory accounts to enable faster boot log-in and security and support for the new Intel Anti-Theft 3.0 platform.
