Information Security Media Group (ISMG) is pleased to announce that Marianne Kolbasuk McGee has been promoted to Executive Editor of HealthcareInfoSecurity.
Formerly the Managing Editor of HealthcareInfoSecurity, McGee accepts the position after being an integral part of the ISMG team for two years. She leads content development of the media site, overseeing its continued growth in coverage of such areas as breach response, regulatory compliance, information security and risk management.
A veteran journalist with more than 20 years of experience covering information technology - including more than a decade covering healthcare IT - McGee previously worked for InformationWeek. During her tenure, she reported extensively on health IT business and regulatory challenges. She also played an instrumental role in facilitating the 2009 launch of the InformationWeek Healthcare website and digital magazine.
McGee produced news, features, analytics reports, columns and slideshows for online and print, and has interviewed top U.S. health IT leaders, including five national coordinators for health IT and many of the country's most influential and innovative CIOs.
"I'm so pleased to announce Marianne's promotion. She's been with us for just over two years now, and in that time she has demonstrated great mastery of HealthcareInfoSecurity - the site, its advisers and content," says Tom Field, ISMG's VP, Editorial. "Our articles, interviews, insights and research all benefit from her influence. I'm happy to have her on our team."
McGee started her IT journalism career as an associate editor at Computer Reseller News. She is a graduate of Long Island University/C.W. Post Campus, Greenvale, N.Y.
