How AI and Real-Time Data Are Reshaping Endpoint Security
Tanium CEO Dan Streetman on Breaking Down Silos and Unified Endpoint ManagementIn today's digital business world, the separation of IT and security teams often hampers unified decision-making processes. Dan Streetman, CEO of Tanium, said organizations need to break down silos and embrace a unified approach called "converged endpoint management," which provides all teams with real-time insights through a "single pane of glass."

Endpoint visibility issues, which affect around 90% of organizations, can stem from various factors such as BYOD or devices that were disconnected for extended periods and missed updates, he said.
"We've reduced the need for IT operations and security teams to have a debate over what's happening. We can see the operational impact on machines. We can see what needs to be changed based on security vulnerabilities," Streetman said. "We can give them the insights. We call it a confidence score to make decisions on what to do next. That changes the paradigm."
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA Conference 2024, Streetman also discussed:
- How Tanium's partnership with Microsoft amplifies the impact of real-time data;
- The dangers of relying on outdated data for AI-driven decision-making;
- The role of AI in endpoint security.
Streetman has worked closely with Fortune 100 companies, been licensed as a financial and operations principal, carried government clearances and served in combat zones as an officer in the U.S. Army. Most recently, he served as the interim CEO of Allvue Systems and as CEO of TIBCO Software.
