Part of its strategy, he says, is to create "an enduring NATO cyberspace curriculum" that "will go from basic to expert" and "consider all the different roles and functions in organizations, and appoint levels of expertise and training that these posts need to have fulfilled so that we can make sure the curriculum matches the needs at all times."

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group, Hargreaves discusses:

  • The NCI Academy’s three-pronged approach to cyber defense training;
  • How the academy has adapted to respond to today's shifting threat landscape;
  • The skills required by cybersecurity leaders today and in the future.

Hargreaves was appointed director of the NATO Communications and Information Academy in August 2020. He ensures that it provides high-quality education and training content to NATO and oversees its continuous improvement. Hargreaves leads change management processes in order to retain business operations and guarantee an efficient, cost-effective and sustainable business management. In his previous role as the NCI Academy’s dean of academics, he was responsible for planning, managing and executing all academic operations required to enable the delivery of individual academic courses, programs and curricula within the academy.
