As Chief Information Officer, Afzal is responsible for technology and operations functions for Huntington Bancshares Incorporated, parent company of Huntington National Bank. Before joining Huntington, Afzal was senior vice president and CIO for Bank of America Consumer Banking. Prior to that, he held various leadership positions at Broadslate Networks, Citicorp and MCI Communications.
Afzal earned his degrees in Computer Science and Management from Strayer University and in Mathematics from Karachi University. He also completed executive leadership programs from Duke University and Ohio State University.
Afzal serves on the boards of the Bowling Green State University College of Business, Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges (OFIC), Groundworks Advisory Group, CIO Executive Council Governing Body, and supports many other organizations in the community.
