Khushru M. Mistry, former chief information officer and senior vice president, Eureka Forbes, said digital transformation must first align with enterprise strategy "and the organization's capacity and capability" to adapt to change.
Mistry, who has led digital transformation projects in companies such as Eureka Forbes and HSBC, said there are three common "speed breakers" to digital transformation.
"The first one is articulation of your digital strategy. Second, does the technology align directly with the transformation? And the third is digital change management," Mistry said.
He spoke about the transformation that he undertook at Eureka Forbes and the change management challenge, wherein he had to lead the transition from "an emotional-based company to a data-driven company."
