Dreyer highlighted the importance of alert-based mechanisms that use AI algorithms to detect anomalies within communication patterns and pairs. By continuously monitoring email communications, AI algorithms can identify suspicious indicators, such as unusual language, unexpected requests, or communication from unknown sources.
"By leveraging AI-driven policies and controls, organizations can strengthen their defense mechanisms, mitigate risks. With a multi-faceted approach that combines AI, education and proactive measures, organizations can stay one step ahead in the ongoing fight against BEC scams." he said.
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group at Infosecurity Europe 2023, Dreyer also discussed:
- The importance of education in filling the gaps in understanding and awareness among individuals;
- The ongoing evolution of the threat landscape and the need for cybersecurity vendors to keep pace;
- Mimecast's email security solutions.
Dreyer has over 20 years of experience in the IT infrastructure, messaging and security industry. He previously held multiple roles instrumental in establishing the professional services organization, leading the U.K. presales team, and establishing Mimecast's presales presence in mainland Europe.
