Clar Rosso, CEO of (ISC)², says most of the members who participated in the poll say that having the "choice" to work remotely or from the office is increasingly important to them. (ISC)² collected responses from cybersecurity professionals around the world in June 2022. Of the 416 surveyed, 57% of those who previously worked in the office some or all of the time said their job satisfaction increased when offered the option of working remotely.
The survey shows that employers cut remote working by 10% in 2022, forcing employees back into the office. Rosso advises cybersecurity leaders to talk to their team members. "Our pulse survey shows that choice is important to them … so talk to your employees about what's important to them, what motivates them, what would make them want to stay in your organization, and then work on that and see what you can do to help make them stay and make it desirable," she says.
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Rosso discusses:
- How remote work policies shifted in 2022;
- The link between remote work policies and worker satisfaction;
- The risk to cybersecurity leaders if they do not offer a choice to employees about whether to stay home, return to the office or adopt a hybrid work schedule.
