Reichmann, who has extensive experience in technology and cybersecurity, recommended a balance of technical expertise and management skills for effective leadership. His management skills, he said, helped him focus on leading teams, keeping them motivated, ensuring they meet their deadlines, and providing coaching along the way.
"It's not all about: 'Everybody's got to do XYZ.' It's a case of working with people to understand the human element to everything that we do," he said. "It is important to coach people through where they need to be, what they need to do, and how to cope with the changes in their own lives as well as what they've got to contend with on the working front."
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group at Infosecurity Europe 2024, conducted as part of the CyberEdBoard's ongoing Profiles in Leadership series, Reichmann also discussed:
- Effective risk management and team motivation strategies;
- Essential skills for a deputy CISO to support the CISO effectively;
- His approach to communicating risk management strategies to the leadership and the board.
Reichmann's career in IT management is marked by successful transformations and the ability to maintain stability across a range of IT systems and applications. He is focused on fostering a mindset of success and support within teams, inspiring them to operate optimally. He is a CyberEdBoard member.
