Building a cyber-resilient enterprise requires several key steps, including wider use of analytics, addressing security earlier in software development, and improving the search for indicators of compromises, according to a panel of experts.

Using analytics to understand data patterns and flow and attackers' behavior patterns helps organizations respond to cyberattacks, says Nirupam Srivastava, vice president, strategy, AI and digital transformation at Hero Corp.

Kiran Belsekar, vice president of information security at Aegon Life, says, “Integrating security early in the continuous integration/continuous deployment software pipeline will improve the detection capabilities.”

Another critical step is to automate the search for indicators of compromise as well as configuration management using artificial intelligence and machine learning tools and the “zero trust” model, says Ninad Chavan, CISO, Edelweiss GIC.

The panel discussion was held at Information Security Media Group's recent Cybersecurity Virtual Summit: India & SAARC .

Srivastava is vice president for strategy, AI, and digital transformation at Hero Corp., a multinational automobile manufacturing group. Earlier, he was director for strategy and M&A for India and South Asia at LexisNexis.

Belsekar, vice president of Aegon Life, has worked on cybersecurity for nearly two decades. His certifications include CISA and ISO Lead Auditor for Information Security and BCP.

Chavan, CISO at Edelweiss General Insurance Co., has over 12 years of experience of information security experience. He formerly worked at Kotak Mahindra Bank and ICICI Lombard.
