Deputy General Counsel, US Cyber Command

Lieutenant Colonel Kurt Sanger, U.S. Marine Corps, has served as a military justice defense counsel and prosecutor, Legal Advisor to the Afghan National Army General Staff, Operations and International Law Instructor at Marine Corps University, and as a planning officer with U.S. Central Command. He earned a degree in National Security Law from Georgetown University in 2015. From 2014 to 2017, Lieutenant Colonel Sanger served as the Staff Judge Advocate for U.S. Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command. He has been assigned to U.S. Cyber Command since 2017, serving first as the Chief Judge Advocate for Plans, Policy, Partnerships, and Legislative Affairs, then as the Chief Judge Advocate for National Security Law, and now as the command’s Deputy General Counsel. Lieutenant Colonel Sanger will retire from the Marine Corps in November 2022.
