Chief Technology Officer, Trusona
As Chief Technology Officer at Trusona, John oversees the Product, Engineering and Experience functions. His mission is to drive the development of Trusona’s next generation authentication platform that enables enterprises to easily and rapidly shift away from legacy authentication yet deliver an outstanding customer experience and strong security at the same time.
Prior to Trusona, John was SVP and GM of Web Security at Akamai Technologies, leading a $1B cloud security business. That security business began with John as a patent holder on Akamai’s distributed web application firewall technology. John led the teams that built Akamai’s Web Security and Enterprise Security products. John also helped drive multiple acquisitions, including Prolexic in 2014. In 2018 John turned his attention to Identity which led to the acquisition of Janrain and the launch of Akamai Identity Cloud.
Prior to Akamai, John led Managed Security Services businesses at Unisys and at Genuity. John holds degrees in physics and computer science from the University of Pennsylvania. He was a member of the 1980 U.S. Olympic Team and a three-time U.S. National Ice Dance Champion.
