With the advent of the internet of things, authentication needs to be far more scalable, says Philip Dunkelberger, CEO of Nok Nok Labs.

"Traditional authentication, where you are algorithmically looking at users of your devices, will have to change; the use cases are going to be broadly different for individuals," Dunkelberger says.

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA Conference 2019 in San Francisco, Dunkelberger discusses:

  • Challenges of IoT security;
  • How IoT networks differ from traditional networks;
  • How can CISOs implement authentication in an IoT environment.

Dunkelberger has more than 30 years in technology. Prior to leading Nok Nok Labs, Dunkelberger served for eight years as co-founder and CEO of PGP Corporation, until it was acquired by Symantec in 2010. He has significant experience in SaaS infrastructure and enterprise software, having served as entrepreneur-in-residence at Doll Capital Management, president and CEO of Embark, and COO of Vantive Corporation.
