Secure Web Gateway: Cultural Issues

iboss' Harris on Meeting Needs in Various Regions
When marketing a secure Web gateway worldwide, iboss has to take into consideration the culture of each region and offer customization to meet local needs, says Roy Harris, senior vice president.

For example, customers in certain regions want to apply filters to exclude online access to a variety of content, he says in an interview at the Infosecurity Europe 2014 conference in London.

In the interview, Harris discusses:

  • The use of an integrated Web gateway, threat reporter and firewall;
  • The ethics of blocking or filtering content.

Harris is a senior vice president of sales for Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa at iboss, which recently opened an office in the U.K.
